We have some special news today!  Alignment Supplies, Inc. is announcing the addition of the ALiSENSOR™ Level VF system as an option package for the advanced user!  The ALiSENSOR™ Level VF system differentiates itself from the core ALiSENSOR™ Level system by replacing the 100mm Fixture Base with the VF Fixture Package, which features a cross-functional L-Shape Fixture Base that is ideal for several different measurement applications.  Due to its remarkably intelligent design, the L-Shape Fixture Base can be reconfigured in seconds to accommodate measurements for straightness, level, squareness, flatness, plumb, shaft straightness or level, horizontal spindle direction, vertical spindle direction, and more.  Boy, that sure makes measurement easy!

The new L-Shape Fixture Base comes with a Shaft / Cylinder Adapter and two Spindle Bit Attachments, making it a highly versatile fixture solution for several applications.  Rather than having multiple fixtures to buy and keep track of, the ALiSENSOR™ Level VF system provides an elegant and cost-effective solution through a multi-functional fixture.

The VF Fixture Package will be offered as an accessory available to customers who already own the ALiSENSOR™ Level with the 100mm Fixture Base, and will also be available to new customers as the ALiSENSOR™ Level VF system.  The ALiSENSOR™ Level core system, which includes the 100mm Fixture Base, will continue to be offered as well.  We are creating more options for our customers, so that those who are looking for just the essential measurement functions or are interested in making their own custom fixtures are still able to get the ALiSENSOR™ Level core system at an incredible price.  Similarly, we have an option for those customers who are looking for a ready-made fixture solution and see the value in packaging in a robust and multifaceted fixture solution that is ready to measure in several different applications.

The L-Shape fixture has 3 landing points on both the vertical and horizontal plane, powerful magnets on both sides, and is tapped for either a 0.5″ Spindle Bit or a 10mm Spindle Bit (included), for either Horizontal or Vertical spindle applications. This fixture is also ideal for squareness, straightness, and even vertical or horizontal spindle measurements.  Also included in the VF Fixture Package is the Shaft / Cylinder Adapter, which simply fits onto the vertical or horizontal plane of the L-Shape Fixture for mounting on shafts or other rounded objects in either axis.  The Spindle Bit Attachments are also included, and easily arranged for either vertical or horizontal spindle pointing direction measurements.  The complete ALiSENSOR™ Level VF system, including the ALiSENSOR™ Level and the VF Fixture Package, is effectively priced at only $3,590, still enabling people to own a complete geometric measurement system, with fixturing for several applications, at a fraction of the price of other measurement systems.  The VF Fixture Package can also be purchased as an accessory to owners of the core system for only $1190.

We have some big news today! ASI is announcing the North American launch of the ALiSENSOR™ LEVEL, a revolutionary new system designed for super-accurate geometric measurements. The ALiSENSOR™ LEVEL is ideal for a spectrum of geometric measurement uses, in applications of all levels of complexity. Of particular note is the technology of the ALiSENSOR™ platform, which is known as Industrial MFi (Made for iPad), a groundbreaking integration of the iPad and other iOS devices into industrial-grade tools and equipment. Not only does the Industrial MFi platform offer users the ability to work with the iPads, iPhones, and iPods that they already enjoy, but also opens up a new sphere of industrial uses that can now be performed with the full range of Apple’s best-selling iOS devices. The best part is that making use of the existing iOS devices means that the R&D and production costs have been radically diminished. This enables us to offer the complete ALiSENSOR™ LEVEL system at a quarter of the price of other geometric measurement systems, making this the first next-generation, wireless measurement system that is finally affordable enough for everyone! Slated to retail at about $2500 (without iOS unit), the ALiSENSOR™ LEVEL is expected to be an instant hit with machinists, technicians, and operators to whom precision measurements are an essential need in production.

The ALiSENSOR™ LEVEL system consists of a sensor unit and an iOS unit (iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch). The ALiSENSOR™ LEVEL sensor unit is a complex but rugged data collector that contains MEMS gyros, accelerometers, and a microprocessor. Data of angular and translational movements are provided via Bluetooth® to the iOS unit, which provides an unsurpassed user friendly environment for the operator to analyze the data. Typical measurement applications to be performed with the ALiSENSOR™ LEVEL are: straightness, level, inclination, and base flatness, with the accuracy required by precision machine workshops.

The ALiSENSOR™ LEVEL is supported with a dedicated App (Application), downloadable for free from the App Store, which guides the user throughout the measurement. The ALiSENSOR™ LEVEL hardware will be supported by several free Apps that can use the functionality of the hardware to implement different types of measurements. New Apps designed for use with the ALiSENSOR™ LEVEL will soon be available for use in measurement applications such as: flatness, squareness, parallel, milling machines, lathes, and more. Any update of the Apps will also become automatically available, free of charge, to customers’ iOS units.

The ALiSENSOR™ platform is developed by GLOi AB, a pioneering company in the Industrial MFi sphere headquartered in Mölndal, Sweden. GLOi AB was founded by Nils Andersson, a recognized luminary of the laser alignment industry, who originally founded both Fixturlaser AB and Damalini AB, two of the biggest laser alignment and measurement companies in the world. The ALiSENSOR™ LEVEL also incorporates several high-end features to its impressive slate of capabilities, including the ability to select from a wide range of measurement units, self-calibration of the ALiSENSOR™ LEVEL for measurement with new or special fixtures, and even reports that are instantly created with all data from the measurement including the resulting graph. The user can also input complementary information (user, location, measurement object, etc.) about the particular setup. The ALiSENSOR™ LEVEL also possesses the ability to include a photo of the measurement object (taken with the built-in camera of the iOS device) directly in the report. The report file can be easily shared like other files on any iOS device – via email, mms, and even services such as Dropbox.
